So long, farewell!

Friends, as most of you may know, I'm getting married on the 19th! That's next weekend! I love you all dearly, but I will NOT be posting next week, or the following week while we're on our honeymoon. BUT. because I do love you, I have arranged for the SWEETEST most lovely group of ladies to do guest posts in my place while I'm gone. You'll want to stay tuned because they're a great group of gals. I'll keep you posted via facebook & twitter.

Our weekend / Life lately

I am getting frazzled, ya'll. Our wedding is NEXT WEEKEND! I don't necessarily have a ton of things to do (I think) But even that makes me feel crazy, and like I'm totally missing something really important and big.
I may have mentioned before that because of our schedules, Tristan and I rarely get to spend quality time together lately. I can't wait for the honeymoon. Just to be able to spend an ENTIRE 5 DAYS with my husband, and only him. It's been so long. Even though we live together, I really start to miss him sometimes.
We try to make Sundays our usual day to spend together, but even then, we have church, and sometimes he plays soccer, or basketball. I deliver teepees, or need to finish up orders from the shoppe.. Nothing really ever goes according to plan, does it?
This weekend we did pretty well, I must say. We didn't get to do everything we planned, but we did pretty good. We even got to stop in to a new shoppe in this area called "Dutch" (which I just know you'd all be in love with) to get Tristan's mom some housewarming flowers.  Anyway. here are a few photos "according to my iphone" of the past weekend and the time we got to spend together. (and the BEAUTIFUL arrangement by Dutch) (the deliver, btw- all you locals)

1. 2. Sweet Arrangement by Dutch
3.  I made my first 6 ft teepee, isn't it so cute and small? <3  These are now available for rent as well as for sale. Photographers love that.
4. Beautiful Succulents by The Plant Shoppe via The Hub.
5. Our walk with Harper. Fern is so darn independent. It's so terrifying, but golly it's cute.
6.  Fern's new way of watching Sesame Street. Lazy. 7. Autumn is here!

Junklahoma

I'd like to take the time to introduce you lovely readers to an etsy shop by The Hibbens. (Name sound familiar? It's because they did these) This shop is so fantastic! Some people just have an eye for finding old treasures don't they? The Hibben's do, and that's exactly what their etsy shop "Junklahoma" is all about. They weed through all of the flea markets, and antique stores, and thrift shops around Oklahoma, and find the BEST loot, often times repurposing them, or fixing them up a bit. I've picked out a couple of my favorites that I've had my eye on since their opening not long ago.

1. Hello Chalk Bubble
2. Double Cola Soda Crate with Legs

I'd put that Hello Chalk Bubble in Fern's room and write her sweet messages or verses of encouragement. I'd put the Soda Crate in our Living room and use it as a catchall. I think It'd look sweet in the space under our TV stand. I love hearing about everyone else's style. Visit Junklahoma and tell me what your favorite items are, or what you'd use them for!

Consider this your inspiration and motivation to get started! (and me too) Keep up with my "All Hallows Eve" Pinterest board for some great DIYs and etsy items for the holidays!

October 1st, my own personal holiday.

For the past 3 years I've taken it upon myself to celebrate October. Why are we celebrating October, you ask? Because it's the BEST month in the BEST season. October is when the leaves change and fall. October is when the weather starts to get chilly (but not too chilly) and you can start to feel good about wearing cozy sweaters and leggings (and not shave your legs, amiright?) October is when I finally feel like drinking hot drinks from mugs, and decorating with pinecones and pumpkins. All of my favorite smells are from October, and they usually all come from some sort of pie.

October is when I'll marry the best man I've ever met.

October is when said fantastic man and I, found out we were having a daughter, and with that started building our family together.

So. In light of all the wonderful things October has offered me and is sure to offer me every year, I celebrate. I celebrate with a pumpkin latte, and by buying my family autumn treats. Like any other great holiday, (Christmas) I stick with the "want, need, wear, read" theme.  When Fern gets home from MDO today, we'll go pick out pumpkins and mums. Tis the season!

Autumn loot pictured above:
*want* Nature Wick candle. -- 3 in 1 Scent: Vanilla Dolce, Apple Tree, Bonfire Nights. (It's the kind of candle that crackles when it burns because of the wooden wick. my favorite!
*need* (NOT PHOTO'd ) I got Fern the sweetest red peacoat from Target today. She is in NEED for the colder season!
*wear* Everybody gets a sweater!
*read* "Her Fearful Symmetry" by Audrey Niffenegger. >> It's on my 30 books list, and I must admit, I've had it for a couple of years. Some dear friends told me it was a pretty spooky book, so I've been waiting for the right time to read it! Halloween-time seems like a pretty perfect time to do so!

Everybody should celebrate October! If you've got the time today, go out get your "want, need, wear, reads" or just celebrate October the way you'd like to celebrate it! Create your own traditions, decorate for fall, buy sweaters, make a pumpkin pie! It doesn't even necessarily have to be today (but next year you should plan for it)
If you do end up celebrating October, write about it and share your link with me! I'd love to see how you and your family celebrate the BEST MONTH EVER.
