Pick my hair color.

A weekend post! whaaaaat? :)

This month I am so excited to introduce to you a good friend, and talented hair dresser Jordyn. Jordyn is a fantastic hairdresser. For you locals, she's recently set up shop at Scissortale Salon on Hudson, downtown. Jordyn and I have been talking these last couple of weeks about what we could do to show off her mad hair skills, and we came up with the perfect solution. MY HAIR. But we want it to be a bit interactive. SO. Jordyn is going to give me a cut and color at the end of the month, and you get to decide what color I go. I figure, this is the last time before I start my career as a realtor that I can really let go and just do whatever, so we're not holding back. I totally trust Jordyn to make me look fabulous, which is why I am totally in on this project!
Below are the hair color options, and under that you can actually take part in THE pole that decides the future of my hair. And.. it's totally anonymous, so if you pick a color that looks absolutely horrible next to the skin on my face, I won't know it was you, and therefore will not hunt you down and dye your hair a similarly incompatible hair color for your the skin on YOUR face. :) so, you're safe there.

I realize these color names are not the legit names, but I'm not the hairdresser here- so they're just a reference point.

If you mention that you saw Jordyn's ad on my sidebar, she'll give you 15% off your first service with her!
You can book your appointment by texting or calling Jordyn.

Sponsorship in 2014

I'm fairly new at this whole sponsoring thing. Since starting the ads on my sidebar, and being part of other people's sidebars, I've learned so much! I want to do a little more this year for my sponsors, and really get them involved with the blog.

Currently, depending on the ad space you purchase, you get a blog post pimpin' out you and your brand, or social media mentions. That's pretty much it. That was just a starting point for me. I didn't really know how to do the sponsorships, so I just kind of .. dipped my toes in. This year- we're going all in.

What you'll get in 2014:

++ Group Posts : once a month I'll email a question in the form of advice, trivia, or a little about yourself, for you to answer. Your answer, picture of choice, and 3 links of your choice will be posted as the content in this "group post".

++You can find these sponsor options available at any time, along with blog stats (updated monthly) via the "advertise" tab at the top of the page.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The Night Nights: an album of lullabies

My friend, and fellow Okie blogger, Claire of My Devising, and her sweet family are trying to release a LOVELY album of lullabies. I mean. I want this for Fern, but let's get real, I'm probably going to fall asleep to it as well.
Here's the thing, to actually get their album recorded and released, they need you to back them up! I just pleadged $25.00 to pre-order a signed album. You can give anywhere between $5.00 and $1,500.
*To help back the Night Nights, and pre-order your lullabies head on over to their Kickstarter page.
*You can also find the Night Nights on facebook, where you can keep up with sneak peeks of more songs you'll find on your lullaby album.
* Visit Claire's blog post to get a track list

**If the Night Night's do not reach their total goal, your money will come right back to you. It's all or nothing. They need to reach their goal by Friday to record their album. Spread the word!

For you locals: There will be an album release show at Cuppies & Joe December 21st. Come out and help us support these ladies. <3 Make sure and grab some coffee before the show so they don't sing you to sleep with their incredible lullabies.

OK in a box

Hey friends! I'm so very excited to share something special with you today! Last week, I got a very special package in the mail from a new local company here called "OK in a box". Here's how it works:
OK in a box is a monthly subscription. Every month you get all sorts of fun local goodies from all around Oklahoma delivered right to your doorstep. Every month has a new theme! The box I received, I'm proud to say, is their first month's box! Being their first month, the theme is appropriately titled "Landrun". So great, right?
In my box this month, I got:
-Cinnamon Sugar Pecans from Valley View Pecan Co. in Shawnee, Oklahoma (that's my hometown ya'll)
-Gourmet Apple Spread from Southern Okie in Edmond
-Onion and Garlic instant meat marinade by Daddy, Hinkles in Cleveland, Oklahoma
-Spunky Spuds Potato seasoning mix and Holey Guacamole! guacamole seasoning mix from Maria Rae's in Enid, Oklahoma.

As you can imagine, I couldn't wait to bust out these treats! For dinner last night we had steak and asparagus: seasoned with Daddy Hinkles, potatoes: seasoned with Maria Rae's spunky spud seasoning, and biscuits with Southern Okie apple spread. After our fantastic dinner, we munched on our Cinnamon Sugar Pecans while we cheered the Thunder on in their first game of the season.

It was all incredible. I would highly recommend any of these treats, but getting them all together in this box was an even better treat. Go. Sign up for Ok in a box now. I'm tellin' ya.  The best part is, OK in a box ships to all 50 US states. You'll see on their website you even have the option to give this as a gift. What a perfect gift for anyone you know may have moved away and might be homesick for the homestead. (<-- I couldn't help myself)
I'm going to give a subscription to my grandmother for Christmas. She's the woman who will spend hours digging through every ornament in Wal Mart to make sure she bought one that was 'made in the USA' (not many are, folks.. not many at all)  The closer to home it is, the more she loves it, so I know this will be a perfect gift for her.

Wait, there's more! OK in a box is so generously offering all of my readers who subscribe, $10.00 off their first order! All you have to do is CLICK HERE and your discount will be applied when you check out.Now that's a real sweet deal. You have the option to subscribe to 1, 3, or 6 months.
